Commercial Data Analyst February 2022 The UK Retail Group including ALDO Shoes, Regis Salons and Supercuts team is constantly looking for ways in which data can enable growth in revenue and profitability and the output of the data department will provide the foundation for all decision makingacross the business.The Data Commercial Data Analyst is a key role within the Management Team responsible for reporting and analysis for all projects.This is a fast-paced role, reporting to the Commercial Director working with key stakeholders across the business including the CEO and Group Marketing Director and with lots of different departments.The role is varied in depth and will be stimulating for someone who loves working with a diverse range of stakeholders and different businesses.The role will be responsible for working with the leadership team to create the company data strategy and technologies and resources required to support this and delivering the strategy.In the initial period you will lead the business through an essential period of change designing the and building the database and business KPI dashboards to meet our ambitious commercial plans in 2022 suggesting short and long-term solutions to deliverbusiness monitoring data for UK Hair and ALDO.You will lead key projects conducting deep dive analysis on the drivers of business performance to facilitate key strategic and tactical decision making.You will develop and manage the suite of regular management reporting including training colleagues to access data to deliver consistent data across business areas and the required reports.You will be confident using data to highlight key trends and influence the leadership team to make strategic and tactical decisions.The role will support the leadership team to create and deliver analysis to the Board of Directors.Responsibilities Data strategy and planningLead the development of the business data strategy and the implementation of the plans.Data warehouse Lead the project to create a data warehouse lead the data warehouse strategy and implementation of a data warehouse for the business to develop dashboards and central repository for reports encouraging a self-serve environment.Data ownerBe the main point of coordination for the business data extracting data and reports from various data sources including Salon IQ and Eurostop EPOS systems ensuring that the business uses consistent sources of data for all reporting.Analysis, insights and trends Be the main point of contact for the development of insights, trends and recommendations using analysis to monitor the business performance to deliver our strategy to increase new clients, visit frequency, average transaction value and upsell in order tomaximise revenue.Executive Team KPI reporting Work with the Executive Team to establish the business KPI dashboards. Create and manage the KPI and establish reporting tools to measure order book forecasting / predictions.Daily KPI reporting Create and manage weekly, monthly dashboards for UK Hair and ALDO including sales and margin identifying key trends in the data.Merchandising data Create an overall database and reporting function for the merchandising team to facilitate the management of orders, stock and margin monitoring. Set up and manage the merchandising reporting and dashboards.Tactical promotional analysis Support the merchandising and marketing team to analyse promotional activities prior to approval and the post promotional review of the activity in terms of profitability.Business case analysis Support the sales, marketing and operational teams to create business cases analysis of an initiative, trials and post activity impact.Skills and experience

• Experience mining large data sets
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience in large SQL databases and Power BI
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with analysing and presenting data in an interesting way, and being able to clearly summarise the data to a non-technical audience
• Comfortable working alongside a senior leadership team including CEO
• Curious and interested in the business and supporting the leadership team to grow it
• Interested in innovation and new technologies and able to advise the leadership team on business opportunities
• Possesses exceptional attention to detail
