Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resources Officer to support the HR department. We are looking for someone motivated and driven to support, advise and coach on operational HR issues. Your role will be to provide operational support, advice,training and coaching to line management, implementing HR policies, processes and initiatives across the wider business towards developing greater people management capabilities.You will be joining a forward-thinking family-owned business which began life in 1917, growing from humble beginnings into a company that now employs more than 7,500 people with a turnover of £1.3 billion.   • To support, advise and coach managers on operational HR issues, including discipline and grievance, terms and conditions, policies and procedures and employment legislation
  • To assist Business Divisions in the management and reduction of sickness absence
  • To support the Property Department with store acquisitions, disposals and closures to ensure relevant people processes are carried out efficiently, effectively and are legally compliant
  • To provide periodic business updates of HR activity aligned to the Key Performance Indicators
  • Working in conjunction with the Training & Development team to design and deliver bespoke training solutions
Some Key Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential
  • HR/CIPD/Business Degree or equivalent is essential
  • Ability to use logical and creative thinking to solve problems and make decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Demonstrates integrity, a strong work ethic and understands the importance of confidentiality
