You will have your own caseload, working as part of our team and alongside other social care services to identify how we canhelp. We provide support to people experiencing issues with drugs and alcohol. We work with people on their own goals, whether thats staying safe andhealthy, making a small change or stopping an unwanted habit. We work with both adults and Young People. Our approach is sensitive and respectful, listening to peoples stories and learning from them.We are innovative and bold working with partners across Wigan & Leigh, providing a service that meets everyones needs; if a person is homeless, in work, has a family, is alone, not in work, has children, we tailor support so it fits them and their individualRecovery Goals. The service embraces stakeholders and our partnerships.This role requires applicants to be flexible and adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment, you will be able to manage a complex caseload and build rapport with both service users and internal and external stakeholders, representing We Are With Youto promote specialist treatment and support.We have a number of permanent and fixed term vacancies available within our core team, our criminal justice team and our rough sleeper team. Our fixed term vacancies are until 31/03/2023, however there is the possibility of the funding and postsbeing extended.   • understanding your clients
  • keeping them safe
  • creating a plan they can achieve with your support
  • checking in with them and reviewing their progress
  • keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them
  • working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery
  • continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients
  • supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care
Essential SkillsTo be successful in this role, you will:
  • have attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or be willing to achieve this within 12 months
  • have some experience of working in a health, social care or related setting
  • have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
  • be able to work effectively in a team, supporting others when needed
  • be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work
  • have good oral and written communication skills
  • be comfortable using IT and digital media
  • be organised and able to manage your time effectively
  • able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion
  • be happy to support other With You locations when needed
You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.Desirable SkillsWell give your application priority if you:
  • have previous experience of working with people who misuse substances
  • knowledge of health and safety, including assessing client in high-risk situations
