Job Description

Procurement Manager | Wigan WN5 | 37.5 hours per week | £35,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experienceOur client is the leading UK manufacturer and distributor of insulated glass consumables to the glazing industry.The companys core values are to be: driven for success, friendly and make the workplace enjoyable; respectful to everyone; teamwork focused; inspiring trust and integrity. The role of the Procurement Manager is to take responsibility for purchasing strategy, ordering materials, components, and equipment, and working with vendors to ensure timely deliveries to the companysfour warehouses and production sites.What can you expect in return

Are you the right person for the job
  • A proven track record of procurement and excellent knowledge of Purchasing and Supply process
  • Self-motivated with great organisational skills
  • A proactive approach, able to solve problems, use your initiative and make decisions when necessary
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and manage an extensive range of SKUs
  • Ability to work collaboratively, building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical strengths to work with sales and manufacturing trends in relation to stock forecasting and purchasing
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Speak Fluent English
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Strong IT skills as well as Maths and English skills are essential

You will
  • Ensure stock levels are optimised against product sales and production requirements using available I.T software
  • Review requisitions and send out a request for quotations and purchase orders to suppliers
  • Provide feedback to the wider business on pricing and changes that need to be incorporated to final product costings
  • Negotiate with suppliers the best price and delivery of goods and services to meet business requirements
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with suppliers
  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve the supplier base
  • Monitor the status of orders and resolve any outstanding deliveries and/or invoices
  • Maintain the approved supplier database and assist with the risk assessment of suppliers
  • Monitor material price fluctuations and update the price volatility tracker
  • Attend supplier meetings.
  • Travel to company satellite locations and suppliers locations (some overseas travel possible)
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a continuous improvement plan for purchasing which minimises stock holding, redundancy, wastage, costs and out of stocks
  • Manage the strategic procurement of all raw materials, packaging, and consumables across a manufacturing operation, ensuring full availability to meet customer requirements whilst minimising costs and working capital in line with financial and strategictargets
  • Negotiate contracts of supply that provide the best procurement and logistics outcomes to ensure material availability, customer satisfaction and cost competitiveness
