Job Description

Process Safety Engineer required. My Client is a leading Resin and Polymers manufcaturer based in Wigan that supply products to a range of industries globally. They are looking to employ a process Safety Engineer. The ideal candidate willhave a background in the Chemical Sector, Experineced with a range of Safety standards; HAZOP, PHA etc. be Degree qualified in either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and be based locally to Wigan.Process Safety Engineer Position Overview

  • Ensuring the production plant is set up to provide maximum output and efficient running of the production facility
  • Designing plant and equipment configuration so that they can be readily adapted to suit the product range and the process technologies involved
  • Instituting scale-up and scale down processes including appropriate changes to equipment design and configuration
  • Ensuring that potential safety issues related to the project and the product are considered at all stages
  • Coordinate preparation of major hazard risk assessments
  • Provide functional safety expertise to the engineering department
Process Safety Engineer Position Requirements
  • Degree qualified in either Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • At least 5 years experience in the Chemical sector
  • Technically proficient in all areas of process safety and loss prevention
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and implementing a range of safety standards such as; HAZOP and PHA
  • Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety standards such as NEBOSH, IOSH and COSHH
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite
  • Based within a commutable distance of Wigan
  • Full UK Driving licence
Process Safety Engineer Position Remuneration
  • Salary £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
  • 8:00 - 16:00 Monday - Friday
  • 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
  • Pension
