Job Description

Job Title: Night Catering AssistantTrust Location: Wrightington Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation TrustLocation: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary, Wigan Lane, Wigan, WN1 2NNShift Pattern: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 22:00 - 06:00 (24 hrs per week)Pay: Night shift rate is £16.14 per hour. Will need to complete 2 weeks training during the day Monday to Friday 9am -3pmAbout the Trust:Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a major acute trust serving the people of Wigan and Leigh. Innovative and forward thinking, the trust is dedicated to providing the best possible healthcare for the local populationin the Wigan Borough and surrounding areas.This is a Temporary Role.What youll be responsible for:

  • Work to standard operational procedures.
  • Preparation of food, this could be within high risk chilled areas, to specified recipes
  • Ensuring labelling of products is correct eg product name dates.
  • After training could be required to produce cooked foods e.g. soups, gravy, fried, bacon etc.
  • Performance of duties in accordance with approved methods, frequencies and standards, adhering to strict food safety standards.
  • Meeting deadlines for production of meals as part of a team.
  • May be required to take patient menu choices at ward level, offer alternatives where required.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.Youll have the following skills/experience:
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Knowledge / experience of working in a busy kitchen
  • Experience in a catering or similar role
  • Excellent customer service
  • NHS experience
  • Food Safety Level 2
