Job Description

Cordant People are are currently seeking to recruit a HGV Fitter / HGV Technician, to join a leading recycling and waste management company in the UK.You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a HGV vehicles and equipment on site.What will I be doingAs a HGV Fitter, you will be responsible for:

  • Service, repairs and MOT preparation on their commercial fleet of waste collection vehicles to meet current legislations and DVSA standards.
  • Planned and reactive maintenance - PPMs, breakdowns, fault finding etc.
  • Working towards company standards and adhering to health & safety processes.
  • Inspections / servicing / repairs to company vehicles.
  • Root cause analysis and investigations on suppliers and own vehicles
  • Complete service and repair documentation and keeping this accurate and up to date.
  • Working on hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Other duties as required.
    • SKills & Experience RequiredLGV / HGV Fitter experience.Municipal services / Heavy industries experience.NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Maintenance, Engineering or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.LGV/ HGV Licence and IRTEC is desired but Full UK driving licence is essential.Own tools required. Hours of work & Rate of pay
  • Hours of work are between 7am-5pm Monday to Friday, but we are flexible with the working hours.
  • £15 per hour PAYE or £19.18 umbrella
