Job Description

Job Title: Accounts AssistantPay Bracket: £24,000 - £27,000 DOEBenefits: Study Package and Progression route into Management Accounts, 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays - rising with length of service, staff socials, charity events and bonus schemeOur client is a rapidly growing SME who have carved their own space within the service industry - partnering between both the private and public sector. With a sustainable long-term plan and continual success, we are looking for an accounts assistant tojoin them in a growth role. This position has the intention to bring in someone who will grow within the business and progress upwards over time.The team are cheery, down to earth, and talented at what they do. Working closely alongside the management accountant, your role will be to manage the transactional ledgers and assist in the production of monthly management accounts.Post-probation period there is study support on offer should you wish to continue with your own professional development. We are looking for candidates who will be able to travel between the Wigan and Warrington office if required - making a driving licenseand access to a car essential. Ideal locations include: Wigan, Leigh, Ashton-in-Makerfield, Haydock and Billinge.Your main roles and responsibilities:Reporting directly into the Management Accountant, your role will include:

  • Posting purchase invoices
  • Managing the company purchase and sales ledger
  • Purchase ledger payment runs
  • Weekly Bank Reconciliations
  • Processing Credit Card expenses
  • Working within Excel to create a range of reports, supporting the management accountant
  • Producing debtors reports
  • Assisting the management accountant with the month end process and production of management accounts - including analysis - offering scope for progression and taking on of further responsibility
  • Assisting in accruals and prepayments
  • Posting journals
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum experience of 2 years in a finance related position
  • Confidence working in Excel and manipulating data sets
  • Friendly personality and strong communication skills
  • Interests in or currently studying an accountancy related qualification
  • The desire to grow with the business and contribute to the team
