Job Description

Head of Operations & Supply ChainDovetail Recruitment have an excellent opportunity to join a fast paced, growing company, who are able to offer a challenging position with development and progression opportunities. We are recruiting for a Head of Operations & Supply Chain to join one of their international offices in Widnes. Reporting to the Group Supply Chain Director, the Head of Operations & Supply Chain role will lead the Operations function and ensure the company is aligned with the group strategy.The Head of Operations & Supply Chain will work closely with the Sales Director in a strategic capacity, with full responsibility and ownership for the day to day running of operations, implementation of a continuous improvement road map, and ensure the company is fully compliant across all areas. The Head of Operations & Supply Chain MUST come from an FMCG background and ideally have knowledge of supply chain operations in the Far East.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • · Ensure the operations team execute daily orders to fulfil ongoing customer requirements.
  • · Ensure robust systems and processes are in place along with stabilising existing processes
  • · Implement the necessary tools to enable management by exception and risk mitigating on going operational challenges.
  • · Generate the appropriate analysis and associated reporting in order to support decision making.
  • · Issue management reporting for all Operations processes into the Operating and Executive Board.
  • · Responsible for short term and long-term planning and successful execution across operation along with the warehouse team and Logistics partners, including CI initiatives geared towards operational excellence.
  • · Responsible for regular review of site capacity and work on ways of optimising existing parameters through performance metrics such as OTIF, risk registers and cross functional resource matrices.
  • · Managing and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of cross functional initiatives related to people, projects, products, and assets within operations.
  • · Responsible for initiating and delivering Continuous Improvement Program-Improving the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the Group’s vision and business plan.
    • Skills & Experience:
  • · FMCG supply chain and operations experience
  • · Able to lead and deploy strategy and manage continuous improvement programs
  • · Strong management presence and leadership ability
  • · Able to inspire and motivate teams
  • · Experience working with senior executives and presenting at board level
  • · Demonstrable experience in delivering operational excellence, analytical thinking, process development and continuous improvement, problem-solving, communication, delegation, and planning.
  • · Able to show strong commercial acumen and a broad experience and understanding of how departments operate across Group functions
  • · Able to be flexible and agile in responding to evolving business priorities and dealing with ambiguity.
  • · Experience with implementing systems within a supply chain and or manufacturing environment (MRP/ERP) would be ideal
