To be considered as Head of Training and Development, you will need:
  • At least 2 years experience with on-the-job training.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to be authoritative.
  • Good problem-solving and negotiating skills.
  • To be well presented, verbally and in person.
  • To be accountable, dedicated, and logical.
  • Be responsible for role, product, self-development, H&S and compliance training across all business units within the retail, wholesale, warehousing and logistics arms of the business.
  • Facilitate product training.
  • Develop and maintain personal knowledge based off all company processes.
  • Ensure all internal processes, tools and operating procedures are documented by the way of process maps, quick reference guides and/or how to videos; personally responsible for creating these and ensuring those entrusted with creating them do so to thedesired standard and within the required timeframe. To then be rolled out in person, and via a training portal (eloomi).
  • Challenge and empower managers to own departmental training.
  • Prepare hard copy training materials.
  • Ensure all training material is fit for purpose, engaging, accurate and easily accessible. To be developed in stages, eventually to incorporate videos and pre-recorded step-by-step guides.
  • Governance of processes; not just documenting what exists but challenging and owning best process.
  • Define and own onboarding processes for each department/the company.
  • Ensuring H&S and compliance training is undertaken by all employees.
  • Foster a culture of training and continuous improvement.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Experience in documenting processes.
  • Ability to work alongside deadlines.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Exposure to HR and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Experience working with all levels of employee and management.
  • Ability to manage a budget.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with all operating departments.
  • Seek feedback on what is and isnt working and respect the opinions of peers and colleagues to constantly improve.
  • Ensure all personal data is processed and held in accordance with GDPR regulations.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
  • Self-starter
  • The ability to encourage and motivate people
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities, projects, and relationships

  • Retail training
  • Warehousing training
  • Knowledge of onboarding processes
  • Asana (or similar WMS) experience
