Job Description

Job Specification:Job: Lubrication Technician Location: Funthams Ln, Peterborough PE7 2PGDuration: 26 weeks (6 months) Temporary ContractPay Salary: £12 Per HourHours: DaysProvide onsite lubrication support by conducting lubrication and maintenance tasks in customers factory environment as defined by the customer and client.Description of the Role:

  • Carrying out daily lubrication checks as detailed by the Customers Planned Maintenance team.
  • Assisting with lubrication training of customers operational personnel as and when required
  • Carrying out repairs and modifications to issues found whilst carrying out lubrication duties as required in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Liaise with Production regarding lubrication issues as identified during day-to-day duties.
  • To assist and implement downtime reduction projects as and when required
  • Carry out first line maintenance activities, assessing and escalating issues when necessary
  • Participate in problem solving and Root Cause Analysis investigations as and when required
  • Investigate and implement improvements as agreed by the Customer
  • Prioritise workload in line with production priorities and plan
  • Identify opportunities to reduce downtime on equipment
  • To assist in achieving site and departmental targets and KPIs
  • Identify process and engineering issues that require improvement
  • Identify and escalate any safety issues found whilst conducting day-to-day duties
  • Have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
  • To assist with Engineering/Lubrication 5S activities as and when required.

  • Ability to spot opportunities and communicate those to other members in the team
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally
  • Where change is recommended to customers, ability to assist with the change management process
  • Ability to work with Direct Reports to leverage successful projects that results in new business opportunities or increased customer retention within the Region
  • Ability to effectively manage and implement projects
  • Ability to advise Direct Reports on how to resolve conflict with mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Able to use hand tools and have specific experience of machinery maintenance
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety in a factory environment
  • Able to understand customer maintenance regimes and how their role can impact on plant performance
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics.
  • Use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience
  • Worked in an industrial maintenance or factory environment
  • Experience in use of hand tools and conducting basic maintenance tasks
  • Worked in a food factory and aware of requirements of operating in this environment
Desirable
  • Formal apprenticeship with an engineering qualification
  • Engineering qualifications / C&G
  • Minimum 1 year working in an engineering environment
  • Experience of carrying out lubrication of equipment
