HGV / LGV Driver with good time management and organisation skills as well as good geographical knowledge of the respective depot area covered in the UK is required for a well-established company based in Whittlesey, Peterborough.Class 1 and Class 2 Jobs AvailableSALARY:Class 1: Basic Hourly Rate £14.73 p/hr / Overtime Hourly Rate £18.71 p/hrClass 2: Basic Hourly Rate £12.59 p/hr / Overtime Hourly Rate £15.74 p/hrLOCATION: Whittlesey, PeterboroughJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HGV / LGV Driver with good time management and organisation skills as well as good geographical knowledge of the respective depot area covered in the UK.Working as an HGV / LGV Driver you will be required to drive an LGV company vehicle up to the class qualified to drive, delivering, collecting or moving company products from depot to customers premises.As an HGV / LGV Driver you will be responsible for the loading and unloading of all pallets on/off vehicle bed/s including cab area, ensuring to position block, straps, load binders around items to secure cargo for transportation and ensuring load is distributedon the vehicle to comply with all axle weights.APPLY TODAYIf this job looks like your ideal position, then please send in your CV as soon as possible for our Recruitment Team to review.DUTIESYour duties as an HGV / LGV Driver will include:

• To drive an LGV company vehicle up to the class you are qualified to drive

• Deliver, collect or move company Product from depot to customers premises

• Responsible for loading & unloading of all pallets on/off vehicle bed/s including cab area

• Ensuring to position block, straps, load binders around items to secure cargo for transportation, ensuring load is distributed on the vehicle to comply with all axle weights

• Ensure that your assigned movement paperwork is completed and return to depot

• Be available to start work from 4am - 6am accordingly

• Carry out drivers walkaround check and log/report all defects before commencing daily duties in accordance to VOSA regulations

• Carry out minor repairs (i.e. changing bulbs, etc)

• Drive the vehicle in compliance to the Highway Code

• Work to EEC Drivers Hours and Working Time Regulations at all times

• Ensure Driver CPC is current, and 7 hours periodic training is carried out annually, this training should include the following modules: Drivers Hours & Working Time Directive, Tachograph regulations, Safe Loading & Load Positioning, Road Craft & EnvironmentalImpact. Customer Care

• Keep vehicle in a clean and tidy state at all times

• Comply with appropriate statutory requirements, Company policies and proceed

• Ensures including Health and Safety, Security, reporting concerns to appropriate person.
• Contribute to the overall aims and targets of the Works unit, appreciate, and support the role of other team members

• Be aware of, take part in the Works Unit performance management framework and participate in training and development activities as required

• Must wear company protective clothing & safety equipment used at all times

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Hold a Valid clean LGV License (C, C+E or C1E) Vehicle provided in accordance to class

• Experience of driving within their approved class

• Experience of using both digital & analogue Tachograph systems

• Knowledge & qualified to transport dangerous goods (ADR Class 3 packages & portable tanks)

• Knowledge of EEC drivers hours and working time regulations

• Good geographical knowledge of the respective depot area covered & UK

• Experience of relating to people and providing a customer focus service

• Good time management skills

• Good Organisation skills

• Be clean and presentable at all times

• Communicate effectively

• Good Team player

• Build a good rapport with customers & the team around you

• Be able to work under pressure during business periods
