Job Description

This exciting job opportunity is for a passionate individual that wants to make a real difference to the community and to the lives of young, vulnerable adults at risk of homelessness within North Tyneside. As our Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager, you will work on a part-time, permanent basis.We are seeking a Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager who can help us promote positive mental health coping strategies and the overall wellbeing of our clients, volunteers and staff through various practices that ultimately empower them to take control oftheir own mental health and wellbeing.You will be responsible for developing creative and innovative initiatives that contribute to positive mental health outcomes and personal wellbeing in every aspect of our work. You will advise project workers and help build capacity in those staff and volunteerssupporting young people in improving and maintaining positive wellbeing.Who are weDepaul UK works with some of the most disadvantaged young people in the UK. We specialise in working in communities where poverty and long-term unemployment have resulted in generations of social exclusion and high rates of homelessnessOver the past 30 years, we have grown as an organisation and developed and enhanced our work and the impact it has across the UK. Depaul UK has a wide range of services for young people and adults at risk of homelessness.What makes this role exciting

  • A thorough induction and orientation to help you settle in and ensure you have the knowledge and support you need to perform your role.
  • Continuous support and supervision including reflective practice to develop your learning and skills as a practitioner.
What will ideally support your success in this Mental Health and Wellbeing Managerrole
  • Experience and demonstrable understanding of challenges faced by young people facing homelessness, and in particular of issues facing young people with mental health challenges
  • Understanding and knowledge of government mental health policy, direction and strategic development
  • Knowledge of relevant networks in both statutory and community settings
  • Extensive knowledge of Safeguarding practices and processes Training and workshop development and facilitation skills and knowledge of deliverable training such as: Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), ASSIST and knowledge of Wellness Recovery Action Planning(WRAP)
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in relevant field (e.g. psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, social work) or hold relevant experience from other work.
