Job Description

The Site Manager will be managing both refurbishment and small project works within building maintenance. Working on a large commercial site. Overseeing building maintenance projects, sub contractors and other project works.Client DetailsThe client is one of the UKs leading construction and facilities management companies. They are looking to add an experienced Site Manager to their team in Weybridge to manage both refurbishment and small project works within building maintenance. Working on a large commercial site. Overseeing building maintenance projects, sub contractors and other project works.DescriptionTasks & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the works are undertaken in accordance with all HS&E legislation, VINCI H,S&E Policies, procedures & Mandatory Safety Standards, and the site Health Safety and Environmental Plans.
  • Manage subcontractors, service providers & operatives to construct the works safely.
  • Review, produce & monitor Task Control Sheets & method statements for all works
  • Ensure site inductions are carried out
  • Puts safety first and instills this in subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure that works are coordinated to ensure suitable safe access and segregation is maintained.
  • Ensures that suitable welfare is in place and maintained.
  • Make efficient use of standard IT packages to efficiently manage own time.
  • Use specialist software to assist in project delivery for example V-Nexus, FiX, 4Projects, COINS for ordering plant and Supply Chain etc.
  • Understand project objectives and communicate to site teams.
  • Sets up teams to complete sections of work.
  • Recognises change on site and retains records as required by the established change control process.
  • Assists in establishing procedures to ensure that all safety documentation is collated and retained for example scaffold inspection records, PUWER records etc.
  • Participates in knowledge share events.
  • Develops day to day plan for site operations from project programme.
  • Fully aware of the resource requirements to effectively complete a section of work.
  • Familiar with supply chain procedures.
  • Manages site activities to ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with the method statements, that they remain on target and takes action as required to rectify problems.
  • Effectively manages site reporting such as record sheets, site diary, tracker and Risk Register, Footprint etc.
  • Capable of putting together cost estimates for sections of work.
  • Familiar with COINS, monitoring of PPE, costs from ongoing hire etc.
  • Manages site activities to ensure works are carried out safely and in accordance with the method statements that they remain on target and that problems are notified.
  • Communicates VCUK quality policy and systems to subcontractors and supplier.
  • Ensures that robust on-site procedures are established and employed and undertakes daily checks.
  • Undertakes regular checks to ensure workforce are meeting quality requirements.
  • Implements, updates and reports on the Inspection & Test Plan
  • Implements and monitors our Right First Time procedure
  • Undertakes regular checks to ensure workforce are meeting quality requirements.
  • Undertakes weekly recorded site inspections for all ongoing activities
  • Undertakes weekly recorded site inspections for temp works such as hoardings, scaffolds, etc.
  • Ensures plant is inspected to meet PUWER guidelines.
  • Seeks out opportunities for improvement, to overcome problems and mitigate risk.
  • Identifies a choice of solution systems on the basis of personal experience.
  • Evaluates and selects from options based on evidence from various sources.
  • Able to understand new and innovative technologies.
  • Records outcomes and advises others on potential improvements.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve on provided information for commercial or practical benefit.
  • Identifies and defines problems that require a solution.
  • Engages with designers / subcontractors to develop conceptual and detailed solutions to problems.
  • Actively promotes and contributes to our LEAN programme
  • Complete all commercial information in a timely manner (RBS/ Supply Chain Invoices approval/ OT etc…)
  • Ensure all Statutory Compliance is completed prior to anniversary due date and report progress to customer, identifying any possible risk with mitigation and/ or management plan.
  • Liaise and coordinate all supply chain attendance to ensure optimum delivery of service around daily site operational requirements.
  • Ensure all PPMs & RMs are completed to SLA requirements and systems updated accordingly.
  • ProfileThe ideal candidate will:
  • Hold a valid CSCS card
  • Have building maintenance experience
  • Ideally be qualified or have experience in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years experience
  • Have a good knowledge of First Aid at Work
