Job Description

We have great opportunity for a Senior Category Manager to join our growing Butter & Spreads (B&S) and Oils Team. This is a new role and is an opportunity to work with some of the UKs biggest and most loved dairy and oil brands.This is a hybrid role - ourHead Office in Weybridge will be your primary workplace with the flexibility to work from home up to three days a week.Our diversified portfolio of tasty and sustainable products includes cheese, butter, spreads, oils, and dairy-free alternatives sold under leading British brands, such as Cathedral City, Clover, Country Life, Frylight and Vitalite.YOULL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY

  • Delivering Category management plans and recommendations across Butters & Spreads (B&S) and Oils categories.
  • Providing objective category management expertise to our customers in the areas of product, price, promotions, range, merchandising, shoppers and coverage to enable SDUK to be viewed as trusted Category experts within our categories and beyond.
  • Developing, delivering, communicating and embedding the vision and strategy for the category growth drivers within our customers businesses.
  • Becoming the "go to person" within our customers for category input, direction and thoughts by becoming the chosen category adviser.
  • Delivering monthly actionable recommendations to our customers and internally based on category insight, working with our customers to develop collaborative category initiatives, plans and ad hoc projects.
  • Leading the range review process with our customers, and internally, setting the strategic category direction, managing in depth opportunity analyses, including segmentation, range, promotions and space & merchandising recommendations as appropriate.
  • Providing a promotional review process with our customers to evaluate both SDUK and competitor brand performance and develop the optimal promotional plan to ensure sustainable growth of our customers categories.
YOURE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE
  • Able to demonstrate a strong track record of success in a category management role, ideally within a FMCG or Retail environment, and evidence successfully managing and growing a grocery category.
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of successfully leading and working with retailers on large and complex category strategies and their implementation.
  • Able to demonstrate experience of building strong and successful relationships with internal colleagues and with multiple grocers through regular face to face meetings.
  • Able to demonstrate proven experience in the development, implementation and review of category plans and range reviews.
  • Able to demonstrate good knowledge of merchandising principles and point of purchase planning.
  • Strong analytically & proficient in the use of external market data tools with the ability to turn data into insight using and interpreting IRI, Nielsen, Kantar, retailer-specific systems.
