An opportunity has now arisen for an Senior Accountant to join Ward Williams Creatives, Business Services team.The role:Senior Accountant (ACA/ACCA qualified or qualified by experience or part qualified with no more than 2 papers left) based in Weybridge, Surrey.As a Senior Accountant, you will support the Senior Manager with compliance work with the opportunity to get involved in advisory work as you gain experience and qualifications.You will be responsible for a mixed portfolio of clients and duties will include:

  • Review of statutory year-end accounts.
  • Able to take full management responsibility for a portfolio of clients.
  • Mentoring and supporting the Creatives Team.
  • Reviewing accounts production on behalf of the Senior Manager.
  • Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Preparation and review of Corporate Tax computations.
  • Liaising with and providing general technical advice to clients.
  • Being able to work as part of a team and managing/training junior members of staff.
  • Billing, WIP management and other adhoc responsibilities as and when required.
  • Providing support to our accounts controller administrator in peak periods.
  • Payroll knowledge would be desirable would not essential.
  • Managing a small portfolio of SMEs including dealing with client’s queries, delivering services, and managing deadlines
  • Providing general tax and accounting advice to suit clients’ needs
  • Acting as 1st contact point for its portfolio and managing its communications via emails, phone calls and virtual meetings
  • Liaising internally and externally to deliver services and meet clients’ expectations
  • Reporting to head of operations
  • Training junior staff
  • Experience required/Person specification:To be considered for this opportunity, you must:
  • Have practice experience within a small to medium sized accountancy practice.
  • Have a genuine interest in accounting and business.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a small to medium sized practice
  • ACCA/ACA newly qualified, or part qualified with no more than 2 papers left
  • Be qualified or be able to demonstrate a proven track record in practice.
  • Be someone with a logical and numerate mind.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent analytical skills with the ability to balance your workload effectively.
  • Communicate well and be motivated to take on challenges as well as problem solving.
  • Have the drive to progress your career and a willingness to take on challenging work.
  • A working knowledge of sage, QuickBooks and/or Xero would be advantageous.
  • Have a good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Proficient of preparing year-end accounts and simple corporation tax returns from start to finish for SME businesses
  • Experience on first-hand client relationship management
  • Deliver high quality of services and meet clients’ expectations
  • Good time management and cost control
  • Good team players, and can work autonomously with little supervision
  • Technically savvy and can handle general clients’ queries covering wide topics in accounting and tax
  • Can advise on standard tax planning for small business owners and company directors
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of communication to 3rd parties on behalf of clients, including banks, HMRC, suppliers and customers.
  • Strong commercial awareness, able to spot opportunities to offer additional services to clients
  • Passion to develop career in a fast growing practice environment
  • Live commutable to Weybridge office, can travel to London from time to time for client meetings
  • Desired but not essential
  • Experience of dealing with personal tax returns, and payroll queries
  • Experience in speciality areas of corporate tax, e.g. Research & Development, SEIS, and other special tax relief schemes.
  • Further information:The position is in the company’s Weybridge office, Surrey, however a presence may be required occasionally in our Sunninghill and Uxbridge offices, therefore your own transportation would be desirable.Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.Hours 8.30 - 5.00pm, Monday - Friday (Inclusive)Benefits:
