Weybridge (30mins from Waterloo) - currently working from home due to COVID-19Full time, PermanentWe have a fantastic opportunity for a qualified solicitor to join the growing Legal Team at our UK Head Office. Finally, we manufacture specialised ingredients at our creamery in Cornwall for use in infant formula by families around the world.What you’ll do at Saputo Dairy UKYou will provide commercial legal support to all areas of our UK business, including:• Contracts - negotiating, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements. Examples include procurement, supply and manufacturing agreements, distribution agreements, construction agreements, service and outsourcing agreements, consultancy agreements, licensing, marketing and promotion agreements.• Intellectual Property - advising on all aspects of IP protection (trademarks, copyright, patents). You’ll work with our marketing team and external counsel to protect, promote and develop our brand portfolio. • Marketing - approving marketing and sales promotion materials, campaigns, websites and content for social media. You will help our colleagues to comply with advertising law, trade description and consumer protection legislation.• Competition Law - providing compliance advice to our sales teams. This includes providing ad-hoc advice as well as preparing and delivering competition training.• Data Protection - advising the business on compliance with the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. You’ll have the chance to shape policy, develop new processes to support contracting in this important area and deliver training to our HR and consumer care teams. You’ll also advise on requests from data subjects or the Information Commissioner’s Office.• Business Ethics - providing training and advice on ethical business conduct, including anti-bribery and modern slavery.• Litigation - advising on disputes with suppliers and customers. You might conduct investigations, gather evidence and manage litigation.A Global Legal TeamBy joining our Legal Team you’ll also be a member of a much larger global team of Saputo lawyers - with colleagues in Argentina, Australia, Canada, China and the United States of America. We regularly discuss our work together and collaborate on global projects. Who’s right for the role• You’ll be a UK qualified Commercial solicitor with at least 2-3 years PQE from a leading law firm or a blue chip in-house background. We will also consider strong NQ’s who have done a Commercial law seat during their training contract.• Good drafting skills and strong business acumen. You’ll be able to provide robust yet pragmatic legal advice to all areas of the business.• A willingness to learn. As you’re likely to be in the early part of your career we won’t expect you to have all the answers, but you’ll be interested in learning from others and developing your professional skills. • Strong communication skills.
