Job Description

Complex Needs Teaching Assistant Engage Education are currently working in partnership with a special needs school on an exciting new complex needs teaching assistant position in the Leeds area.Starting in September, the school is looking for an outstanding SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a long term temporary basis. If the role goes well there is the potential for this to turn into a permanent assignment.The school caters for young people who have a range of needs including complex learning difficulties, ASD and communication issues.This role is for a teaching assistant to support learners with a range of needs which can be complex and so someone with a care background would be a good fit. This role may require personal care and feeding.Your Role:

  • Supporting children across KS3/4
  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • You will be assisting pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD, Severe Learning Difficulties and other Learning Disabilities

  • A range of behaviour management techniques
  • To have worked with learners with a range of needs
  • The ability to re-engage a young person in learning through a range of methods
  • To be able to commit to working at the school for long period of time
