Job Description

Regional Operations Manager, Weston-super-Mare, £50-60,000Reporting directly to the National Operations Manager, the Operations Manager has overall responsibility for all sites, projects and clients across the SW region. The Operations Managers will have several contracts managers and where necessary site managersreporting to them. The position will effectively deliver a portfolio of landscaping / fencing / arboricultural / environmental and ecological contracts to agreed programmes, specifications, budgets and to manage & develop client relationships.Overall profitably and cost capture for all contracts will be the responsibly of the Operations Manager.Operations Manager will be a key member of the Senior Management Team and be involved with the overall strategic planning, implementation and overseeing of developments with the Company structure.Responsible for monthly regional reports and overviews for presentation at the senior management meetingsA proactive and forthright approach is required to organise, motivate, develop and lead managers to ensure a safe, compliant, and high-quality service is always delivered. In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring contracts are profitable and theCompany is getting best value for money from key suppliers. You should also ensure competence levels of direct and subcontract teams are appropriate for the works and are kept up to date.Responsibilities

  • Be the conduit between the Operational teams and the National Operations Manager
  • Overall responsibility for all project/schemes within their region
  • Oversee, undertake and have overall responsibly for all billing monthly. Ensuring all key dates are met and agreeable cash flow is achieved
  • Oversee sub-contractor rates/billing to ensure value for money is being achieved
  • Ensure compliance with Company commercial policies and procedures
  • Produce annual budgets and forecasts, monthly forecasts, cost reports
  • Ensure correct commercial engagement and ensure correct onboarding of subcontractors
  • Organise and Chair weekly operational planning/review meeting to ensure that all contracts are being delivered
  • Work with the commercial department and review contracts to achieve agreeable T&Cs
  • Attend where necessary pre-award meetings for contracts (especially for larger scale contracts)
  • Ensure weekly review of contracts, budgets, resources, and forward planning are carried out and communicated to the wider SMT
Key Skills
  • Extensive Commercial insight and knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Relevant Health & Safety knowledge, including CDM regulations and risk management
  • In depth knowledge of relevant industry developments and regulations
  • Competent with Microsoft office products and Commercial Management Software (CEMAR / A-site etc)
Qualifications
  • Educated as a minimum to HNC/HND/Degree level (or equivalent experience)
  • Black CSCS card (LISS / FISS)
  • Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS and a relevant professional qualification
