An organisation that places a strong emphasis on the value of employees and have created a fantastic working environment with genuine opportunities for career development and progression.”Full Stack DeveloperSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 DOELocation:Outskirts of BristolSummaryThe full stack developer’s responsibilities include delivery of high-quality solutions on time, within development guidelines, to an established level of quality and that matches the functional requirements.Note that this is a developer (not pure coding) role, so the developer is expected to be able to convert business requirements into an IT solution and will be somewhat competent in screen design, UI design and database design.As an experienced IT professional, the developer will also be expected to contribute to the evolution of the IT strategy, highlighting new approaches, tools and techniques for the betterment of the IT function.Tasks

  • Development of IT solutions via UI design, coding and database development.
  • Contributing in workshops to evolve coding standards and IT strategy.
  • Peer-review of code.
  • Skills
  • Empathy for client needs – usability and performance requirements
  • Strong knowledge of C# and .Net Core
  • Strong knowledge of web development concepts – client/server models and technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS components.
  • Strong knowledge of ANSI SQL (e.g. MySQL, SQL Server)
  • Ability to write robust (defensive) code in a modular way with parameterisation rather than hardcoding.
  • Understanding of design patterns such as MVC, n-tier approach to development.
  • Experience of continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g. Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
  • Ideally some knowledge of Java, Angular
  • Pragmatism – knowing when to use available components rather than code from scratch.
  • Ability to write unit-test plans to verify solution delivers to requirements in a robust manner.
  • Understanding of scalability – how to write code that scales well and is performant under high volumes.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, escalate blockers and report on progress.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
