The North Somerset Branch of the RSPCA is responsible for running the Animal Centre at Brent Knoll and a number of Charity Shops in the locality that help to fund its activities.The Branch Manager will provide leadership and supervision for all activities associated with the objectives of the charity. They will work closely with the Branch Trustees and Senior Management Team to develop and deliver the Branch’s strategic goals and create a sustainable future. It is essential that the post holder promotes and fosters an ethos of high welfare standards for all of the animals that the charity cares for, both within the Animal Centre and the local community.The post holder will be measured against set targets to ensure sustainable income is achieved. Accordingly, they will develop a business plan to outline how this will be accomplished in the context of delivering exemplary animal welfare. The effective generation of income will be facilitated by developing and maintaining a close working relationship with the incumbent of the new role of Fundraiser, which is also being recruited at this time.The Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing the work of a number of staff members and volunteers and to that end will liaise with the Deputy Retail and Animal Centre Branch Managers in order to implement best practice policies and procedures across the charity.Management of the shop network will focus on maximising profitability and ensuring the smooth running of each outlet as well as developing a strategy for identification of opportunities for expansion.The Animal Centre management will be focussed on ensuring that all core activity is delivered in an effective manner. This will include the provision of exemplary care for residents as well as ancillary functions such as ensuring that maintenance requirements are efficient and effective.We are looking for someone with appropriate levels of experience who possesses the ability to motivate staff and volunteers and who has an enthusiastic approach to the role.
