With a mix of heritage mansions, including thebeautiful Georgian mansion at Quebec House, alongside garden buildings, garden walls built by Churchills own hands, and incredible infrastructure projects on the horizon, our ambition and history of our sites continue to inspire us every day.Chartwell was the much-loved Churchill family home and the place from which Sir Winston drew inspiration from 1924 until the end of his life and draws visitors from around the world. Emmetts Garden is an Edwardian plantsmans paradise with a shrub collectionfrom around the world, and it attracts families, dog walkers and horticultural experts alike. Quebec House is a beautiful Georgian mansion that requires ongoing maintenance and works to protect the incredible collection, and you would support all of thesesites.You are supported by a strong and knowledgeable Facilities and business services team and work alongside the Leadership team, supported by the General Manager. We work closely together to achieve our ambitious targets, not only for conservation and protection of buildings but also to reduce our carbon and improve our green practices.More information about these locations can be found here Chartwell | National TrustEmmetts Garden | National Trust and Quebec House | National Trust What youll be doing As Facilities Manager youll be leading a team of six support staff from both hard and soft facilities, who are experienced and eager to learn from their new manager. Your operation will be an active one, monitoring compliance, orchestrating works and deliveringon projects. Youll also have an office base from which to arrange contractors, track compliance and plan your teams delivery. Youll join the Property Leadership Team and report to our General Manager, working closely with her to deliver both short-termrequirements and long-term development plans. Youll be accountable for the running of all aspects of facilities management, making sure we are safe and compliant. Who were looking for

  • A strong understanding of the core principles and functions of facilities management and maintenance; experience in a heritage or visitor attraction site is a plus.
  • Excellent previous experience of broad compliance and risk management, including knowledge of Health & Safety, Emergency procedures and Fire & Security procedures;
  • Relevant vocational experience, or professional qualification such as the Institute of Work and Facilities Management Member level 4 or 5 certificate, IOSH/NEBOSH certificate.
  • Experience of working with contractors and your own facilities team to get the best value for Chartwell portfolio and the National Trust;
  • Outstanding communication, service and people skills;
  • Experience of managing budgets and delivering or managing projects;
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office;
  • An interest in environmental best practice, and to act as a green champion would be welcomed
