Hospital CleanerLocation: SouthendJob Type: TemporaryDuration of booking: This is a temporary ongoing role with no end date specifiedProposed start date: As soon as possibleSector: HealthcareBase: HospitalBand: 2Pay Rates: Monday to Friday hours worked from 6am to 8pm (days shifts): £11.68 paye inclusive per hourMonday to Friday hours worked from 8pm to 6am (Night shifts) / Saturday: £13.89 paye inclusive per hourSunday / Bank Holidays: £17.10 paye inclusive per hourWorking Days and Hours: Across Monday to SundayVarious shift times available.Job SummaryTo provide the cleaning services, as part of the Site Services team in providing a high quality cleaning service supplying the Hospital’s core services in terms of a comprehensive, professional and integrated cleaning service within the community premises.This role is a vital and essential element to healthcare safety and compliance with infection prevention and control standards.Duties:

  • Provides cleaning services in accordance with training, throughout the hospital as assigned by their Team Leader/Manager.
  • Ensures high standards of cleaning within both clinical and non-clinical areas of the hospital.
  • All areas are to be cleaned to the prevailing standards.
  • Cleans ward areas according to a schedule ensuring the environment is to the highest standard, and that infection risks are kept to a minimum. For example; high dusting, damp dusting, floor area, fixtures and fittings, low dusting
  • Responsible for cleaning during and after reported infectious outbreaks to reduce and remove the risk of infection throughout the hospital.
  • Brings to the attention of the line manager any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that pose danger or risks to health and safety.
  • Clean clinical and non-clinical areas (including sanitary areas and thoroughfares), ensuring the hospital is perceived as clean from the moment of entry.
  • Provides a great level of customer service to all patients, staff and various stakeholders requested
  • Complete all out ad-hoc cleaning tasks as required by their supervisor to ensure the hospital remains contractually compliant
Training Information:
  • 3 day induction provided free of charge and not paid
  • Southend and Basildon induct Weds-Friday (unpaid). We receive checklists for these on Mondays and confirm with dept.
  • Broomfield induct Mon-Weds, so they take checklists on the Friday and get confirmation from departments there.
Dress code
  • Candidates must wear smart black trousers and plain black shoes that cover their feet.
  • On the first day candidates can wear a smart top of their own, but for the second and third day the Trust will provide a domestic top
  • No jeans, jeggings, leggings, jogging bottoms or trainers.
