Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to join our Trauma and orthopedic Specialist Nursing team. Currently the post is for 26 hours with the potential to become full time .As a key member of a small team, the successful applicant will work closely with Ortho-geriatric team, Trauma and Orthopedic team, orthopedic theatres and Trauma wards. North Bristol NHS Trust is a Regional Centre for Major Trauma.The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic with excellent communication and computer skills, and possess the ability to learn and develop quickly, working autonomously and as part of a team in a busy environment.The post holder will be expected to work with the Orthogeriatric team and undertake Trauma Coordinating role as required.Orthogeriatric role involves working with Senior Specialist Nurses/Geriatricians reviewing hip fracture and fragility fracture patients. The post holder will help to collate information for National Hip Fracture database (NHFD) including starting the NHFD forms and doing 4AT’S on post-operative Hip Fracture patients as part of Best Practice Tariff (BPT).Trauma co-ordinating role involves good communication within Orthopaedics; including management of patients going to theatre; fracture clinic; and trauma wards.Applicants must be flexible and willing to undertake internal rotation to weekends.
