Job Description

IR Sister Band 6 – based in Gate 19 Daycase UnitA dynamic and forward thinking sister is required by one of the UK’s largest NHS Hospital Trusts. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Purpose built Brunel Building at Southmead hospital opened in 2014. You will be part of a dedicated team of Nurses who provide care for patient’s pre and post Interventional Radiology procedures including Vascular, Neurology, Urology and Cardiology. The team covers four areas, IR labs, cath lab, daycase and a variety of imaging lists.WHY APPLY This sister position is a fantastic opportunity to take on a role with:

  • A developing interventional service in one of the largest teaching hospital trust in the South West of England and in one of the best hospital sites in Europe. We are part of the major trauma and vascular service for the South West and are currently developing the stroke thrombectomy service.
  • Collaborative multi-disciplinary team working with close links to clinicians and radiographers within the department and other divisions.
  • Excellent facilities within the new Brunel Building. Staff are also well provided for with cafes and restaurant with roof terrace, cycle centre and well-being courses.
  • Recent CQC rated Good overall and outstanding for Caring.
  • THE ROLE:
  • Responsible for the day to day running of a clinical area with a dedicated team of Nurses.
  • Supervision and support of staff.
  • Participation in the planning, development and evaluation of services within the radiology team.

  • A forward thinking, skilled and highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills to provide day to day clinical and managerial leadership for our friendly and pro-active nursing team.
  • A role model and adopting a team leadership style that motivates and empowers staff to develop and enhance the interventional radiology nursing team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills along with knowledge of IT systems.
