NORTH BRISTOL NHS TRUSTSenior Clinical Fellow (SpR level) in Knee SurgeryWe wish to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow in Knee Surgery to posts of either 6 or 12 months duration, with start dates of February 2021 and/or August 2021. The posts are based at Avon Orthopaedic Centre in the newly built Southmead Hospital. The appointment is based within the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at North Bristol NHS Trust. This is the main Elective Orthopaedic Unit in Bristol and one of the Regional Specialist Orthopaedic Centres in the UK. It is a referral centre for knee revision and prosthetic joint infection and is well known for its partial knee replacement and patellofemoral surgery. It is a Major Trauma Centre as well as a regional centre for Neurosurgery and Plastic Surgery.The post holder will be required to work flexibly within the department but will predominantly work with Mr A. Porteous and Mr J. Eldridge. Prior experience in knee arthroplasty and arthroscopy is essential for this post. The post will provide exposure to both soft-tissue, arthroscopic and arthroplasty knee surgery.The post is aimed at final year Registrars or senior trainees awaiting Consultant jobs. A requirement of this post is to submit one paper to a peer-reviewed journal during the fellowship.Candidates must have, or be eligible for, GMC registration that allows them to work in posts that are not recognised for training. If in a training post this post is recognised for off programme training.
