Job Description

General Porter - Southmead Hospital - Band 2We currently have a Full Time General Porter Vacancy; working 37.5 hours per week.The hours required will be weekly shift rotation to include 6:00 - 14:00 , 14:00 - 22:00 and 22:00 - 6:00 over 7 days a week (including bank holidays and weekend enhancements)The Duties

  • To work as part of the operational team responsible for providing a comprehensive patient support service in the hospital environment. This will involve carrying out the following Facilities Management functions.
  • The primary function is the movement of patients, blood products , consumable products, waste, furniture, medical equipment, gasses, beds, mattresses etc.
  • Responding to Major incident as requested.
  • To provide a high quality responsive, efficient and effective patient support service to wards, and departments in North Bristol NHS Trust acting in a caring and professional manner and working in line with the Facilities and departmental operating procedures.
  • Driving vehicles including van and lorries
