Autism Support WorkerSEN Teaching AssistantBS9£70-75 a dayFull-timeAbout the job:Teaching Personnel have the exciting opportunity to recruit a range of Teaching Assistants for a Specialist Academy in BS9. We are looking for someone to support children with low to moderate SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH. The school are looking for someone who has experience either professionally or personally supporting well-being and behavioural needs previously, as the pupils have come from an extremelyvulnerable background and could have multiple trauma-based difficulties that they struggle to cope with on a daily basis.This school caters for children aged 9-16 with complex social, emotional and behavioural difficulties including autism and has a Steiner inspired curriculum focussing on outdoor learning such as farming, gardening and art and craft. The school is in amazinggrounds as it has 18 acres of land and has the most amazing facilities. Class sizes are very small and there is a huge amount of support.A typical day within the school for you will be to work in a group or in a 1:1 environment to provide tailored assistance to individuals which require specialist support.The ideal Teaching Assistant must:

  • Have strong behaviour management skillsa firm but fair approach
  • Be flexible and patient
  • Have experience working with vulnerable people who have challenging behaviour
  • Have a passion for supporting the most vulnerable children
