Job Description

Location: Kirklees-based Secondary SchoolAre you passionate about science and education Do you have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Science Technician at a reputable secondary school in Kirklees.Position: Science TechnicianLocation: Kirklees-based Secondary SchoolSalary: £90 - £130 per day (dependent on experience)Contract: Full-timeResponsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science experiments and demonstrations.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functioning properly.
  • Assist teaching staff during practical sessions, providing technical support and guidance to students.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the laboratory.
  • Assist in the development of new experiments and resources as required.
  • Support science department staff in administrative tasks related to laboratory operations.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably within a school environment.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety procedures related to laboratory work.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A passion for science and education.
  • Relevant qualifications in science or a related field would be advantageous.
