Job Description

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a West Yorkshire FMCG company in the search for a Production Shift Manager.Shift: Days and AftersReporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Shift Manager will be responsible for managing the production team on a shift-rotating basis, leading the teams through day-to-day activities, and ensuring the department always runs effectively and efficiently.Our client is looking for a dynamic Production Shift Manager, with excellent proven people management skills who can also manage similar FMCG production processes whilst driving through change and improvements.Duties and responsibilities of the Production Shift Manager include:

  • Taking the lead in the improvement of safety standards in the designated area of responsibility
  • Plan and implement team (and individual) training plans to develop the level of multi-skilling in the team
  • Always maintain the site at an ‘audit ready’ level, by conducting weekly/daily audits
  • Supporting and leading a culture of continuous improvement
  • Monitor and reduce waste generation
  • OEE Analysis with a focus on equipment downtime to identify improvement opportunities whilst liaising with the Maintenance Team to improve machine performance
  • Responsible for labour requirements ensuring adequate cover to meet production schedules, whilst minimising cost
We are keen to speak with Production Shift Managers with the following skills & experience:
  • IOSH ‘Managing Safely’ Qualification
  • Technically Competent – Ability to learn and understand processes
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing industry
