My client, an award winning and truly disruptive financial services organisation are looking for a Head of Data Engineering to build out a fully-fledged Data Engineering function. The successful candidate will inherit a team of Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Analysts and drive strategy, closely collaborating with board level execs to drive commercial outcomes.Key Requirements:- Experience as a Lead Data Engineer/Team Lead, or Data Engineering Manager (essential) - A natural leader, comfortable with having commercial conversations and collaborating closely with senior/board-level stakeholders (essential) - Previous experience in recruiting and building Data Engineering/ Data Science teams (essential) - Experience in Python, R, Scala, Spark, Kubernetes, Kafka, (essential)- Experience in Cloud Technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)- Comfortable with building and maintaining data lakes.
