Job Description

Our clients are a well established shipping and logistics company that provide a complete freight solutions for their customers. They are currently looking to recruit a new member of staff for their Import team dealing with LCL Import container freight for their offices in Thurrock. You will be working within an Import team and dealing with some Import operations and arranging deliveries to customers. You will report into the Import operations manager.Purpose of the role:To assist in the Sea freight operations and arrange release of container and assist in delivery of customers container shipments to their premisesDuties will include:

  • Place booking on system
  • Liaison with shipping lines and customers with regards to their shipments
  • Checking that original documentation is in place before release
  • Release of LCL goods through Destin8 and CNS
  • Payment of shipping line charges
  • Calculating rent charges and any other expenditure are accounted for ensuring the files may profit
  • Invoicing out
  • Entering data onto files within the system
  • Deal with any queries or problems that may arise
  • Develop a strong working relationship with customers and suppliers
  • Assist in arranging delivery of goods to customer
    • To be successful for the role you will need to have experience of working within a freight forwarding or logistics environment and have a good understanding of the Import container freight procedures and knowledge of LCL deliveries.You will have good communication skills and be able to work within a team.Salary is to £25k depending on experienceSuitable candidates will be contacted where possible within 48 hours of submission.
