Job Description

Thesuccessful applicant will have a proven track record in the classroom as wellas having a desire to continually develop classroom practice, both in their ownclasses and across the department. The school is seeking to appoint to this positionfor January 2021. Head of Ethics (including GCSE Citizenship and IBGlobal Politics) The Head of Ethics will be responsible foroverseeing the delivery of the curriculum in a range of subjects as outlinedabove. This includes the implementation and development of the Key stage 3provision for Ethics, which includes delivering elements of PSHE, FBV, SMSC andthe Kent Agreed syllabus for Religious Education. At Key Stage 4, we currentlyoffer GCSE Citizenship and at Key Stage 5 we deliver the InternationalBaccalaureate Global Politics course. These are all areas of the curriculumthat we wish to develop further and the successful applicant will share apassion for curriculum development in these areas. As well as curriculum development,the successful candidate will also line manage a small team of teachers inthese subjects and will share responsibility for developing effective teaching,learning and meaningful assessment.
