Job Description

Owing to an internal move, a Group Finance Manager is required for this sizeable global business. Not only will the successful Group Finance Manager take responsibility for the European reporting, they will assist European operations with cost accounting for procurement, sales and distribution, financial evaluation of strategic projects, help direct investment decisions, profitability and cost analysis, co-ordinate financial teams in Europe.Detailed duties of the Group Finance Manager include;

  • Assist in rolling out activity based costing methods at all production operations and ensure that cost allocations are done correctly into these activities
  • Ensure consistent processes are followed by the operations in order to leverage the key cost drivers to enhance margins
  • Identify all margin drivers in order to assist management by focusing their efforts on managing these drivers to best benefit of the operations, identify opportunities to improve margin
  • Co-ordinate annual budget and 5 year strategy information with in-country financial managers and consolidate into a regional budget for the annual financial, capital and cash flow budgets and 5 year plans.
  • Preparation/review of detailed KPI reports, with commentary, on a monthly and quarterly basis on a company and a consolidated basis for management team and Board of Directors.
  • Monthly financial accounts for the European group, including Consolidated Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow and Capital Expenditure reports and compares with budgets inline with IFRS
  • Compile and control monthly capital expenditure against budgets for the Group and ensure compliance with various delegation frameworks.
  • Report on weekly Sales and Cash Flow for the group.
  • Ensure that statutory obligations are maintained
  • Proper review of all year-end annual financial statements for presentation to the audit committee, various boards and shareholders
  • Monitor compliance to group accounting policies
  • Consolidation of year end reporting packs to present to the group finance for consolidation
  • Coach and mentor Finance Team.
  • Assist local financial teams with developing correct and efficient financial structures
  • Financial evaluation of strategic projects.
  • General profitability and cost analysis by product, customer and region.
  • Evaluate projects to ensure efficient capital allocation
  • Preparation/Review of capital requests and projects to ensure accurate feasibility studies and project reports
  • Provide strategic support to both local CEOs and CFOs
  • Development and implementation of "Risk Management" policies and procedures.
  • Assist with identifying key risks and implementation of controls in order to mitigate applicable risks
    • In order to apply, candidates for the Group Finance Manager role must demonstrate the following;
  • Chartered Accountant – ICAEW essential and only ACA’s will be considered
  • Experience of a group financial management role that has involved consolidating international entities for product based businesses
  • Secure understanding of activity based costing methods
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS
  • Confidence to lead on the group reporting activities for the European division
