Job Description

Job DescriptionJob Title: DeveloperHours of Work: 40 hours per week including one hour lunch. Standard hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Flexible working may be required.Salary:Dependent on experience We are looking to recruit Developers who will bring solutions together in WordPress, adding a great deal of value to the agency and to our clients. Based in our offices at Kings Hill, someone who is keen to work on innovative solutions for websites, software and integrations.About Us: Business growth is central to our client proposition and we use digital to make that happen for clients within financial services.   • Consulting with UX designers, front-end developers and project managers to plan and develop solutions
  • Working with clients to understand their technical needs and explain our recommended solutions in as much depth or simplicity as the client can understand
  • Developing website back-ends in WordPress to create an excellent content and website management experience for users
  • Implementing new solutions on existing WordPress websites
  • Managing existing solutions to ensure future-proofing and security of WordPress websites
  • Maintaining technical standards, learning new technologies and working with team members to share knowledge and encourage collaborative improvement
  • Attending development team meetings to forge paths into future tech opportunities and new tech standards
  • Performing peer-review of code on work performed by your team members to ensure the work outputted is of a high standard
    • Keys Skills/Experience
  • At least 2 years developing PHP Websites, ideally WordPress websites, ideally larger-scale sites
  • A good understanding of the PHP and WordPress platform and how modifications can be achieved in the most effective way
  • Thorough understanding of HTML, MySQL, database management and performing integrations both manually and via API
  • Preferred experience in using the WordPress REST API and ideas for how our agency can use this to benefit our clients in new and inventive ways
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work and collaborate as part of a team
  • A problem solver who is comfortable finding a solution to development challenges on a regular basis
  • To work with the existing team to continuously improve development processes and best practices
  • Experience with scoping and costing of projects
  • Ability to self-manage your time and workload, working with project managers and stakeholders to provide data and feedback of your work and ensure that projects are delivered on-time and on-budget
  • Familiar with development standards and security standards for WordPress
  • A passion for WordPress!
    • Beneficial Skills/Experience
  • Some experience and skill in front-end, though not absolutely essential
  • Experience working with version controlling
  • Experience with WooCommerce, WordPress Multisite
  • Proficient with JavaScript
  • Understanding of DNS configurations, CDNs and SSL
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior developers
