Job Description

Our local authority client based in West London are urgently seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager.*£500 A DAY UMBRELLA*ROLE DESCRIPTIONThe objective of the Development team is to implement the Assets and Growth Strategy, delivering complex development and regeneration schemes, new housing supply, new community assets including schools and community facilities, deliver capital receipts andnew income streams, and manage stakeholder and community relationships.The primary purpose of this post is to lead on the co-ordination, management and implementation of one or more complex assets and growth projects, ensuring quality, innovation, best practice and efficiency in commissioning and delivery. The post holder willtake development from planning approval and transition to pre-construction and delivery, to completion and handover. The post holder will deputise for the Head of Development and provide specialist professional advice and support to Development Managers acrossthe team.Qualifications:

  • Essential: A relevant degree in construction, development or regeneration (e.g. Development, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction Technology, Building Surveying etc.), or, equivalent significant experience and evidence of continuousprofessional development (at least 5 years)
  • Desirable: Membership of a professional body associated with the construction industry (i.e: RICS, CIOB, RIBA etc).
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Project management skills for technically complex projects involving and closely impacting upon residents and other stakeholders.
  • Procurement skills to deliver new construction of homes and community facilities
  • An understanding of how regeneration initiatives can be used to address deprivation, access to services, issues around community safety and cohesion.
  • The ability to demonstrate technical knowledge of building procurement, design and construction technology;
  • Knowledge of housing strategy issues for London & SE and strong awareness of Health & Safety within the construction industry, CDM regulations and JCT D&B contracts;
  • You will have experience of managing the delivery of complex and challenging schemes from inception to completion through to defects;
  • You have extensive experience of new scheme procurement including scheme optimisation, single/two stage tendering managing the design process and monitoring scheme progress and programme.
  • Experience of new build residential
  • Experience of new build non-residential and community assets
  • Experience of construction project management
  • Experience of managing budgets and cost control
  • Experience of co-ordinating and managing project teams
