Job Description

Were pleased to announce that Sheridan Maine is collaborating with a London-based retail firm to hire a Senior Commercial Finance Analyst for a 12 month FTC. This presents an excellent prospect for an Accountant with qualifications such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA,or CA to join a renowned business.In this role, you will offer crucial support in analysis, planning, and reporting to facilitate decision-making and assess business performance.Responsibilities of the Senior Commercial Finance Analyst include:

  • Conduct period-end accounting, analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations, discussing variances with business partners
  • Present variances at monthly finance reviews, assist in management accounts production, and review the monthly Board pack
  • Attend e-commerce P&L reviews, provide detailed store reporting for the retail team, and handle ad-hoc reporting
  • Analyse future opportunities, trends, and key business drivers, and enhance analysis and reporting with finance/IT collaboration
  • Manage property accounting, conduct profitability analysis, and contribute to board presentations
  • Coordinate the annual budget process, review the full retail P&L, and maintain rolling forecasts
  • Collaborate with the retail team on store incentives, and manage one direct report, focusing on motivation and performance
The successful Senior Commercial Finance Analyst will require the following knowledge and experience:
  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CA)
  • Proficient in advanced MS Excel functions such as lookups, sumifs, pivot tables, and financial modelling
  • Effective time-management abilities, capable of setting priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Proactive and self-motivated
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
