Job Description

JGR Group working in partnership with Keystone EcologyEcological Field Surveyors / Fieldwork AssistantsAn exciting opportunity has arisen for candidates with a passion for wildlife and the outdoors to support a landmark scheme from April to October within the Afan Valley, Neath Port Talbot.JGR Group working in partnership with our client Keystone Environmental are seeking to recruit several Ecological Field Surveyors and Fieldwork Assistants to support an exciting and pioneering project in the beautiful Upper Afan Valley within Neath PortTalbot.Your role as working on behalf of Keystone will be to support Wildfox resorts with a landscape-scale translocation scheme which will involve relocation of a variety of reptiles and amphibian species.The opportunity will provide a range of industry required skills including translocation, Ecological Clerk of Works, nesting bird surveys and fingertip searches for which training and ongoing guidance will be provided by Keystones team of in-house Ecologists,gleaned from over 20 years of operation.Ideally but not essentially, candidates will hold a qualification in Ecology or a related field and have experience of wildlife and protected species surveys. However, shadowing of more experienced staff and a comprehensive training package will be provided.Essential Requirements for the roles

  • Genuine interest and passion for the outdoors and nature.
  • Your own car or the ability to commute, car share to the Maesteg, Bridgend, Neath and Port Talbot areas - the site is easily accessible by car.
  • A mobile phone which you would be willing to use to liaise with the appointed contact/office.
  • Willingness to work independently or as part of a larger team.
  • CSCS card - this would be an advantage however early liaison can aid with acquisition.
  • Awareness of surroundings and the ability to follow clear instructions.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety.
  • Hours of work - up to 40 hours per week plus overtime.
  • Rate of Pay £11.00 per hour.
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime as and when required.
  • Comprehensive training provided.
  • Suitable footwear.
  • All other PPE will be provided.
