The Community Dietetic Service at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is excited to invite applications for a Band 6 Community Paediatric Dietitian. Applicants will ideally have paediatric experience or can demonstrate a keen interest in paediatric dietetics.The Community Paediatric Dietetic Service operates across Liverpool & Sefton. This role provides the unique opportunity to work as part of a proactive, community based team where you will have the opportunity to utilise and develop your dietetic knowledge and skills across a wide range of clinical conditions within a community setting. There may also be opportunity for this post to be included as part of the Band 6 rotational posts with the acute dietetic team based at the hospital, our specialist children and young people’s eating disorder service and/or our children and young people’s Tier 4 in-patient mental health unit.As a community dietitian you will deliver the service predominantly through clinics (both face 2 face and virtual) whilst some patients, predominantly those who have Home Enteral Feeds, will require home or school based visits. You will encounter a range of conditions, including: faltering growth, food allergies, feeding difficulties, obesity, Autism, ADHD, gastrointestinal conditions and children with complex health needs. You will be required to provide specialist nutrition and dietetic advice, education and support to patients, families, carers, and other healthcare professionals.The successful applicant will be joining an experienced team of community and acute paediatric dietitians and will benefit from regular peer and clinical supervision.
