Our client is a traditional well-established privately owned automotive 1st / 2nd tier with sites across the Midlands including a facility in West Bromwich.They are currently seeking an experienced CMM Metrology Engineer who can join their quality team to support the Quality Manager.Key Responsibilities will include -Lead the Metrology departmentWork with sales, customer, and manufacturing on New Product IntroductionMeasure and collate Initial Sample Inspection ReportsUndertake capability & MSA studiesManage first off activities and associated tooling corrections.Manage gauge procedures and maintain frequency of calibration and acceptance.Maintain customer drawings and associated engineering specifications.Take part in continuous improvement activitiesActively promote quality system awareness.Prepare and deliver audit reportsInvestigation of quality problems and identifying sustainable solutions.Assist the Manager in any metric reporting.Build and maintain customer relationships.Undertake and report on any statistical reports as required.Conduct process / system audits and manage any non-compliance.Receive and manage customer SQA representatives on-site.Candidates will be experienced CMM Operators having extensive knowledge and experience of key quality tools, 8D, APQP, PPAP, MSA, PFMEA, SPC, Error Proofing & Control plans gained within a IATF 16949 environment.Hours are 7:30 till 4:30 Monday to Thursday with early 12:30 finish on Friday.Salary levels are circa £40 / 42,000.To apply please send your CV to Gary Simpson.
