ENVIRONMENT AGENCY - PERSONAL ASSISTANTBrook Street are recruiting for someone to join the Environment Agency`s Major Projects and Programme Delivery team as a Personal Assistant to the Programme and Contract Management Deputy Director, for 6 months, whilst the substantive post holder is on assignmentto another role.The Environment Agency work to create better places for people and wildlife, as well as support sustainable development.Within England they`re responsible for:" regulating major industry and waste" treatment of contaminated land" water quality and resources" fisheries" inland river, estuary and harbour navigations" conservation and ecologyThe Programme and Contract Management is part of Major Projects and Programme Delivery, MPPD. As part of MPPD, they focus their energy on ensuring there is the right balance of operational resources - people, skills, knowledge, process and technology - to setthe stage for collaborative, efficient delivery of the Environment Agency`s programme of flood risk, navigation and environmental projects. An excellent package is offered, including:" £13.02 per hour pay rate" Starting as soon as you have passed clearance checks until the start of March 2024" Accrual of up to 33 days paid annual leave pro rata available (inclusive of bank holidays)" Working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with some degree of flexibility" This role is based in Nottingham; working 2 days in the office and 3 from homeKey Responsibilities:Examples of work performed will include but not be restricted to:- general administrative support. - diary and email management - preparing meetings and capturing actions- action log management- preparing documents- handling enquiries and requests- managing a forward look system- organising and developing a variety of data and information- Overseeing administrative procedures and processes- Assisting with budget preparation and control, if required- Acting as an administrative liaison with internal and / or external sourcesThis role will involve you working closely with the wider senior leadership team to ensure the smooth running of the team and you will be encouraged to be innovative and proactive in your approach, looking for opportunities to do things more efficiently whereyou can. You will have the ability to carry out a combination of assigned tasks, mostly unsupervised. Due to it being a busy and dispersed team, you will need to be able to adapt to changing demands when prioritising your work. A strong and collaborative working relationship will need to be formed with the Deputy Director`s Executive Co-ordination Officer,who is based at the Nottingham Office. It is anticipated that there will be the need for some occasional travel to support meetings at other locations and to work with the wider PA Community of Practice, however the majority of the working day will be spenteither working in the office or remotely from home (exact details to be mutually agreed, but a significant proportion of home working is possible).What are we looking for" Excellent written and verbal communication skills, working effectively with team members and external contractors/suppliers" A can-do attitude and a real passion for supporting people and sustaining working relationships" Well-organised, able to manage yourself and your own workload effectively whilst working under your own initiative" Ability to pick up new IT systems quickly and be capable using IT services such as Microsoft Office programmes (for example MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint etc.)."
