POST: Medicines Optimisation PharmacistJOB TYPE: PermanentBAND: 8aHOURS: Part time.BASE: Trent Bridge House, West Bridgford / Wollaton Vale CentreCLOSING DATE: 22nd September 2020An exciting opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of Medicines Optimisation Pharmacists to join the Medicines Optimisation Team in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. The vacancies are based and work predominantly within the City and South Notts Integrated Care Provider (ICP) area. This encompasses Nottingham City, Rushcliffe, Gedling and Broxtowe and Hucknall. The post holder may be expected to work across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire if the need arises.This opportunity is for experienced pharmacists to join our friendly forward-thinking team to help deliver a broad and influential medicines optimisation remit. You will find a perfect outlet for your skills and enthusiasm in a varied role offering the chance to make a real difference to patient care.You will provide advice and support to facilitate high quality, evidence-based safe and cost effective use of medicines in the local health community. This will involve providing practical help and guidance to practice staff and other members of the multidisciplinary, integrated health and social care teams, and working closely with colleagues and stakeholders from across primary, secondary and community settings. You will facilitate change and implement prescribing policies within GP practices and provide training to a range of healthcare professionals and other multidisciplinary staff.For this role you will need to be an experienced, proactive pharmacist with a relevant postgraduate qualification and with a strong track record of delivery. An independent prescribing qualification would be an advantage, although it is not essential. You will need to combine excellent verbal and written communication skills with sound clinical knowledge, computer literacy and a great deal of self-motivation.It is essential that you can work autonomously and effectively manage your time and workload. You will need to have the ability to use your own initiative and effectively prioritise work to ensure timely delivery of a number of work programmes. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across multiple organisations.
