Job Description

Published DescriptionThe Client:We have an excellent opportunity for a Controls Manager tojoin our client working for a leading UK automation company.The Controls Manager will be responsible for the delivery of automation and control system software and commissioning work packages - on time, within budget, and of the required quality - contributing to the successful delivery of automationand control projects.The salary offered is up to £85k pa + car allowance + bonus and fantastic benefits and the option to work on a hybrid basis.The role of the Controls Managerwill include the following.

  • Lead, engage and coach a team of Controls, Enterprise Integration, and Commissioning Engineers
  • Collaborate with the Business Development and Applications teams to develop robust estimation norms and provide pre-sale technical support.
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure solid delivery plans are in place for all Software and Commissioning work packages.
  • Ensure efficient allocation and utilisation of automation and controls system Software and Commissioning resources.
  • Develop, maintain and improve Software Development, Testing and Commissioning processes and procedures and ensure their compliance.
  • Develop and maintain supplier and sub-contractor relationships to ensure the availability of high-quality short-term / temporary resource to support peak demands.
  • Create, maintain and improve internal standards, templates, libraries, methods and best practices to ensure the highest possible efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Electrical Engineering, Projects and Manufacturing management and supervision to ensure processes, standards and methodologies are aligned between two departments.
What’s needed for me to be considered for Controls Managerrole
  • Minimum of BEng in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years in a relevant technical delivery / management role
  • Subject Matter Expert in electrical control systems
  • Well-developed influencing and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to work with people effectively at all levels
  • Be a great team player and be able to work under own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral & written
  • Confident and pro-active with an organised approach to work
