Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a specialist motorsport or vehicle builder as a Vehicle Build Technician.From modern concept vehicles to custom classic rebuilds for the elite, to one off "off the wall" projects like placing an oversized super charged engine into a family vehicle then fitting a killer sound system to it! In this role you will be defining, documentingand tracking how the concept vehicle goes together, using your skills to make the vehicle fit together and ultimately be stunning!Whats in it for you

As Vehicle Build Technician you will be required to:
      Work within the Vehicle Build Technician team under the instruction of either the Principal or designated Senior Technician.
Assemble Prototype and Production vehicles to the required standard, as dictated by build manuals and verbal instruction, ensuring timely delivery
  • Provide hands on technical support to the Vehicle Build Technician team
  • Carry out work in adherence to technical drawings, internal and external specifications and build instructions as appropriate ensuring accuracy and process documentation
Working with the wider project team to keep production on schedule.Provide engineering feedback during build and identifying improvement opportunities
  • Identify, define and support the introduction of continuous improvement activities in the area
  • Provide support to members of the wider build team
Consult on build and quality issues as they ariseAs Vehicle Build Technician you will have the following experience / qualifications:
  • GCSE- Grades A to C, BTEC First Diploma. Training to City & Guilds, level 2. (NVQ-2).
    • Previous experience of working within a team of Vehicle Build Technicians within the Automotive, Motorsport or Aerospace industries
Previous experience of assembling Prototype and Production vehicles to the required standard, as dictated by build manuals ensuring timely delivery
  • Experience of using a variety of handheld tools
  • Experience of working with precision components
  • Demonstrable experience within a role which requires building mechanical or electromechanical components
  • Hands-on experience of whole vehicle builds
A background in niche, low volume or motorsport engineering with a broad understanding of vehicle systemsDesirable:
  • Electric Vehicle / Hybrid Level 3 (IMI or equivalent)
      Experience of craftsmanship assembly methods where final fit and appearance is the responsibility of the operator Fabrication and machine shop skills - that include component manufacture and welding steel & aluminium (MIG & TIG)
        An interest in and knowledge of electric systems
