The role requires someone capable of building a team, evangelising best practice, developing juniors, as well as owning business-critical support and systems administration around Windows and Linux.The Senior Systems Administrator will run a team of 3, owning the support function for Wintel, VOIP telephony, desktops, phones, Database (including SAN Storage), Security, compliance and monitoring. The environment is a mix of on-prem and VMWare Hyperv virtualisation as well AWS (EC2) hosting.The role will come in and manage a transitional team, provide best-practice support to remote and in office users, improve the current systems and support the CTOs strategies around pre-production / development environments for the 10 strong development team.Essentials:Senior Systems Administrator, leadership background or potential (we will be looking at where you’ve contributed ideas to and executed on, change or major work streams in your support/admin team)Strong Windows and Linux server hands-on support / systems administrator exp.Supported an enterprise-level on-premise and virtualised environment (ideally VMware).Networking supportBeneficialsOracle Database AdminStrong Security expSpecialist knowledge in Applications Servers for Open Source Development - EngineX, Puma, ApacheThis is a a Head of IT Operations role, but suitable for a Senior Systems Administrator with the right range of exposure in the above tech and management orientation.
