Do you have an interest in Fracture and Orthopaedics and a desire to gain a nationally recognised qualification in Plaster castingAre you willing to learn and develop new skillsDo you see yourself as a team playerThen this could be the role for you.The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department are looking for a Band 4 Associate Nurse or equivalent to train as a Casting Practitioner.The role will involve working across sites in our busy Plaster Rooms, Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinics, to gain a broad theoretical and practical knowledge base to enable the successful candidate to provide exceptional treatment to patients requiring application of casts and splints whilst undergoing treatment.The training role will take approximately 12-18 months to complete, consideration will be given if successful to putting forward to attend the RNOH Casting Certificate Course.This role is fulltime 37.5 hrs per week working Monday to Friday - the successful applicant will be expected to rotate across two sites St. Albans City Hospital and Watford General Hospital.This post will be on a rotational basis and training will take place in St. Albans City Hospital Orthopaedic Centre and Watford General Hospital.The successful candidate will also be expected to cover staffing requirements as per service needs in the Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinic’s based on both sites.For further details / informal visits contact:Fracture Lead Nurse Jacqueline Lockett Telephone:
