I am working with a school who are looking for a Level 3 Teaching Assistantfor 15 hours per week AM only (fixed term)Location: Waterfoot Primary School, Rossendale, BB4 9DAThe post will start from 1st September 2020 and will end when the child leaves the schoolThey wish to appoint an enthusiastic, highly skilled TA3 to support a child 1:1 with a visual impairment. The child is entering Y3 and requires support throughout Key Stage 2. You will be working alongside a VI specialist teacher, to support the child learning braille and a habilitation teacher to promote the child’s independence in their local environment. You will also support the child to access learning in class, adapting and providing resources as appropriate.The post requires the candidate to have excellent ICT skills and to be prepared to learn braille alongside the pupil, if they do not already hold a qualification.Required Qualifications• NVQ level 3 or above qualification (or equivalent) - in exceptional circumstances, where local circumstances dictate, qualifications may be viewed as desirable• Level 2 or equivalent qualification in• English/Literacy and Mathematics/NumeracyDesirable Qualifications• Level 2 Braille to support a child with a visual impairment working 1:1Essential Experience• Experience of working with children• Experience of working in a relevant classroom/service environmentDesirable Experience• Experience of Administrative work• Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviourEssential Knowledge• Ability to relate well to children• Ability to work as part of a team• Good communication skills• Ability to relate well to parents/carers• Ability to supervise and assist pupils• Time management skills• Organisational skills• Knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities• Knowledge of the concept of confidentiality• Administrative skills• Knowledge of Key Stage 2• Ability to make effective use of ICT• Ability to assess children’s development• Ability to plan and deliver work programmes• Flexible attitude to workClosing Date: 12th JulyInterviews: 15th JulyTo apply please email your CV toReed Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.
