Job Description

Our client an established and expanding manufacturing business are currently looking to recruit Thermoforming Setters to join their team.Overall Purpose:

  • Working as part of a team of machine setters within the thermoforming production environment, you will be ensuring the smooth running of machines, achieving quality and production targets to the highest level.
    • Main Duties:
  • Working in accordance with the companys BRC Certification, Health & Safety policy and good manufacturing practice.
  • Performing product changeovers, setups and run established tooling to the manufacturing specification, particularly within the production time targets.
  • Maintain and improve machine efficiencies (ensuring index size is run on its minimum and machine runs maximum cycle time for product). As well as constantly improving roll change times.
  • Diagnose and correct running faults in a timely manner.
  • Control the process to maximise output but minimise scrap (use set up rolls wherever possible)
  • Ensure machines are maintained at the highest hygiene level possible.
  • Effectively communicate progress and any issues that arise with the Shift Manager.
  • Remove skeletal waste from the back end of the machine, following the SOP.
  • Complete the required information on the IT system/job pack sheet, fully and accurately, especially the recording of downtime and the reasons.
  • Identify tool prep requirements and communicate these and any defects to tooling technicians via the tooling check sheet.
  • Provide cover for production team, covering breaks and when not setting machines.
  • Take an active part in any training and development programmes.
  • Carry out all machine clean downs as instructed on the SOP.
  • The correct PPE must be worn where stated and safe working practices adhered to.
  • Always maintain a clean, organised and safe environment.
    • Key Requirements:
  • Experienced machine setter.
  • Working with polypropylene material for food packaging, specifically Keifel machines would be an advantage.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments and working shift patterns.
    • The Package:
  • Starting hourly rate £9.28 or £10.28 dependent upon experience, fully trained rate £11.24.
  • Initially may be working a 5 day, 8 hour three shift pattern but be prepared to work the 24/7 shift 12 hour shift pattern if required.
  • 23 or 33 days holiday including BH, depending upon shift pattern.
  • Life Assurance (1 x Salary) after 6 months.
