Job Description

Job Title: Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) EngineerLocation: WashingtonCompany: Central EmploymentWe are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to join our automotive client in Washington. This role plays a crucial part in enhancing supplier base quality performance and ensuring compliance with our QualityManagement System (IATF 16949) guidelines.Key Responsibilities:

  • Improve Supplier Quality Performance through second-party audits defined within the QMS.
  • Support suppliers during New Model Development.
  • Manage supplier PPAP requirements during development and mass production.
  • Support gauge design and manufacturing, part measurement, and supplier part approval processes.
  • Collaborate with the Design and Development (D&D) team for design and product validation testing.
  • Assist in investigations and troubleshoot product and production issues.
  • Contribute to developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
  • Conduct performance reviews and establish action plans with the supplier/commodity.
  • Manage the supplier scorecard population/distribution within the required timeframe.
  • Adhere to IATF 16949 guidelines.
  • Work closely within the department to provide support and guidance.
  • Manage and track Supplier quality concerns and warranty claims for effective closure.
  • Participate in cost reduction efforts.
  • Be flexible with potential overtime and open to changes in job roles for departmental flexibility.
  • Plan travel to suppliers locations for product development and second-party audits.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • ONC/NC in a relevant field (Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline).
  • HNC in Engineering (advantageous).
  • Demonstrable understanding of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Certification as an Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor.
  • Experience in conducting Second Party Audits.
  • Experience with interactions of both suppliers and customers.
  • Willingness to learn and develop quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic problem-solving skills for identifying and addressing quality issues.
  • Computer literate within the MS package.
