Job Description

Job Purpose:To execute work activities associated with the maintenance and repair of the building fabric, site services and waste processes at the Washington siteThe Operative will report to the Site Services & Contractor Manager at site, executing a varied range of activities that protect the Washington site and ensure capability for manufacturing teams to perform their dutiesPrinciple Duties:

  • Site planned maintenance & installation activities within competencies
  • Industrial cleaning
  • Minor repairs within competencies
  • Monitoring and recording of waste stream & DI Stream parameters.
  • Monitoring and topping up of chemicals (i.e., lime, sulphuric, ferric, polly)
  • Cleaning / changing of the filter press & waste
  • Supervising the delivery of bulk chemicals
  • Reporting on chemical usage and reporting stock levels / re-order points
  • Arranging timely removal of waste (bins / clip top drums / IBCs)
  • Completion of work orders within competencies
  • Support to contractors during technical works
  • Attendance at site operational meetings as required
  • Effluent Treatment Plant Duties during working hours
  • General 5S work area cleaning
  • Reporting & escalation of anomalies to the ME / Chemist / Supervision
Key Skills:
  • Previous industrial cleaning experience
  • Comfortable and capable working with chemicals
  • Effective communication with stakeholders across site
  • Responsibility for work order completion within SAP for the Site Services Department
  • Problem solving (cause, remedial action and corrective action)
  • Ability and willingness to undertake training, learn and adapt skills
  • Ability to use hand tools & power tools as part of work
  • Ability to work unsupervised for periods of time
  • Effluent Treatment / Chemical process experience beneficial
  • Experience of working through daily plans and executing repairs & maintenance beneficial
